As the director of a fashion brand, SEIKA continues to inspire women with her simple yet sophisticated style.

–Do you typically incorporate glasses into your daily style?
“Every other day. I like to use glasses as an accent if my outfit is simple. Before leaving the house, I like to grab a pair that matches my outfit for the day.”

–Prior to starting your current job, how did fashion play a part in your life?
“I was born in Sapporo, which is absolutely filled to the brim with vintage stores. I used to love finding bargains–every time I’d find something good, I’d be so thrilled like I found a piece of hidden treasure. I don’t think that feeling has ever disappeared, even now that I work with fashion every day.”

–Tell us about your brand.
“My brand’s concept is ‘shocking someone when you rendezvous.’ I also want these pieces to be things you want to wear forever, even once you become a grandma. It’s important to me to value my own feelings and to wear things that I really want to wear.”

–How do you spend your free time?
“It’s so refreshing to just take a walk in the park or play with my cat. Right now, I’m working on the brand with the guy I’m dating. We’ve been together for six years–he’s my lover, my business partner, and my best friend. Just like my brand’s theme, I’d love to shock him when we rendezvous. It would be nice to do that in other countries too!”
